Wes Harper is a seasoned survivalist, entrepreneur, and television personality renowned for his appearances on Discovery Channel's "Naked and Afraid" series. Born on February 22, 1970, in Washington, D.C., Wes was raised on the outskirts of Northern Virginia, where he developed a deep-rooted connection to the outdoors through camping, fishing, and hunting with his family.
In 1996, Wes co-founded LightWire, Inc., an IT company based in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he serves as President. The company provides technological solutions and has grown to employ a dedicated team serving clients across the globe.
Wes's journey into survival television began in 2017 when his wife, Molly, submitted an application on his behalf to "Naked and Afraid." He has since participated in multiple challenges, including a 21-day survival in Brazil's Tocantins region, a 40-day XL challenge in South Africa's Limpopo Province, and a 21-day all-star challenge in Ecuador's Cotopaxi Province.
Beyond television, Wes is an advocate for resilience and self-reliance, often sharing his experiences to inspire others. A father of five and a cancer survivor, he emphasizes the importance of perseverance and maintaining a positive outlook.
