We're building something worth building your career on.
Survival Mastery is early. Really early. We're not hiring at scale yet — but we will be, soon. When we are, we want to hire people who care about the work as much as we do. If that's you, tell us about yourself now. We'll be in touch when the timing is right.
About Survival Mastery.
Survival Mastery is a learning platform built for the institutions, youth programs, and organizations shaping the next generation of prepared, capable people. From national scouting councils to international schools, from Fortune 500 workforce training to community youth programs — we're the platform underneath the work.
We were founded because the software serving these organizations was decades behind the work itself. Legacy systems held together with duct tape and acquisitions. Data breaches. Vendor lock-in. Platforms built for a different era. We're building the alternative — from the ground up, as one integrated system, with the security, flexibility, and design that modern organizations actually need.
We're a small team based in Colorado Springs, backed by real partnerships with organizations like Bear Grylls Ventures, EDGE Ventures, and Scouting America. What we're building matters — and we take that seriously.
Our values.
Four things we hold ourselves to. Not slogans. Not focus-grouped mission statements. Just the standards we actually work by — and expect our team to work by too.
We ship real work.
Not proposals about work. Not decks about work. Real, shipped, in-production work. What you build ships to real people who depend on it. If it's not shipped, it's not done.
The person doing the work owns the decision.
Small team. High agency. If you're closest to the problem, you're closest to the solution. We hire people who can make decisions — and we get out of their way.
Skills over credentials.
Where you went to school matters less than what you can build. Show us what you've made, what you've shipped, what you've learned. That's what we care about.
Say what's true.
Especially when it's hard. Especially when someone doesn't want to hear it. Honesty is a form of respect — for the work, for the team, and for the people we serve.
Life at Survival Mastery.
We're early stage. Small team. Distributed. Doing serious work for organizations that depend on us. Here's what that actually looks like day to day.
Every person on the team matters. There are no passenger seats. If you show up, you're building something meaningful — and the impact of your work is visible.
No political games. No meetings about meetings. We work directly, communicate directly, and give each other real feedback. It's not always comfortable, but it's always honest.
Our partners include national scouting organizations, international schools, and Fortune-scale enterprises. The work we ship reaches real people, in real programs, with real consequences. We take that seriously.
Work from wherever you work best. Colorado Springs is our home base, but the team is distributed. What matters is the work you ship — not where you sit while shipping it.
Benefits worth having.
As we grow, so do our benefits. Here's what we're building toward — the standard we hold ourselves to for the team we're building.
Medical, dental, and vision for you and your family. Great work depends on people who aren't worried about their health — or their families' health.
401(k) with company matching. We're building a company people can retire from with security — not just work at until we get acquired.
Substantial PTO plus company holidays. Time off means time off — no email expectations, no "quick check-ins," no guilt for taking what you're entitled to.
Annual budget for books, courses, conferences, and professional development. Learning doesn't stop when you get hired — and we invest in the people who invest in themselves.
Ownership in what you're building. If we succeed, you succeed. The people building the company should share in the value they're helping create.
Work from wherever you work best. Optional in-person time in Colorado Springs. Team gatherings that matter, not mandatory office days that don't.
Parental leave, family planning support, flexible schedules for the realities of parenting. We hire people, not just employees.
You get the tools you need to do the work. No fighting with IT for a proper laptop. No approvals to buy the software you need.
An honest note: We're in early stages. Not every benefit above is available today — some will roll out as we scale and add employees. When you talk to us, we'll be straight about what's available on day one and what's on the roadmap. What's here is what we're committed to building toward for our team.
Where we work.
Colorado Springs is our home base. But the work happens wherever the team happens to be.
Our home base and legal address. Where the founders are, where team gatherings happen, and where the mountains are close enough to remember why we do this work.
Most roles are remote-first. We hire based on skills and fit, not geography. Async-friendly communication. Documented decisions. Meetings only when meetings actually help.
Optional gatherings in Colorado Springs when they add value. Never mandatory. Never "we need face time." Only when being together will do something remote can't.
Anticipated roles.
These are the areas we'll be building teams in over the coming months. We're not hiring today — but we're gauging interest so we can move fast when we're ready. If you see yourself in any of these categories, let us know now.

Don't see your role? Select "Other" in the form below and tell us what you do. If it fits what we're building, we want to hear from you.
Express interest.
Tell us about yourself. Which role interests you. What you've built. What you're looking for. We'll review every submission and reach out when we're ready to hire in your area — even if that's not today.
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
What to expect next.
We want to be straight with you about what happens after you submit — and what won't happen.
Every submission gets read. Not skimmed by an ATS. Actually read by a real person on our team. We take that seriously.
If we're not hiring your role yet, we'll say so and let you know roughly when we expect to be. If we are hiring — or getting close — we'll set up a conversation.
When we're ready to hire, expect one or two real conversations before we know if it's a fit. No unpaid work samples. No take-home tests designed to burn 20 hours of your time. Just real conversations about the work.
Even if the timing isn't right today, we'll keep you in mind. When we're ready to hire in your area, you'll hear from us — not a generic marketing email.
We're not ready to hire yet — but we will be, soon. When we are, we want to hire people who care about the work as much as we do. Who ship real things. Who tell the truth. Who understand that what we're building matters to the people who depend on it.
If that's you, tell us about yourself now. We'll be in touch when the timing is right — and when we do reach out, it'll be because we mean it.
