Making Clean Water Accessible: Katie Rich’s Vision for Safer Water Systems

Katie Bolek Rich is the Vice President of Marketing at Aqua Research, Inc., a company dedicated to developing sustainable, life-saving water purification solutions for use around the world. With over two decades of experience in the water treatment and disinfection industry, Katie has played a pivotal role in shaping how emerging technologies are introduced to both humanitarian and commercial markets. Her leadership spans strategic branding, global outreach, and cross-sector collaboration to make clean water more accessible in disaster relief, rural communities, and off-grid environments.

Katie’s path to water innovation was grounded in a deep-seated commitment to public health and environmental stewardship. After earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, she worked with several pioneering companies in the water sector, including MIOX Corporation and Aqua Membranes. Her work focused on cutting-edge solutions such as electrochlorination, membrane-based filtration, and chemical-free disinfection—technologies that empower communities to secure safe water without dependence on traditional infrastructure.

At Aqua Research, Katie leads initiatives that highlight the importance of safe, scalable water disinfection using only salt, water, and power. Through campaigns that emphasize simplicity, reliability, and sustainability, she has helped promote tools like the H2gO Purifier—a portable, easy-to-use device that has earned global recognition for its impact in the field. Her efforts have directly contributed to improving health outcomes in regions facing water scarcity and contamination, from Sub-Saharan Africa to Latin America.

Katie’s mission is rooted in education, empowerment, and innovation. In her Survival Mastery course, she teaches foundational skills in water filtration, purification, and safety—sharing practical knowledge that can be applied in wilderness survival, emergency preparedness, and off-grid living. Her work is driven by the belief that access to clean water is not just a necessity, but a human right. Whether equipping aid workers, survivalists, or everyday families, Katie’s instruction reflects her lifelong dedication to helping people thrive through better water practices. By bridging the gap between high-tech innovation and hands-on application, she continues to champion a safer, healthier world—one drop at a time.
