CORRY
HAWK
Correy Hawk is a traditional bowyer, Marine Corps veteran, and lifelong outdoorsman whose journey blends ancient craftsmanship with modern resilience. Raised in a small village in Southeast Nebraska, Correy was immersed from an early age in hunting, fishing, and foraging, guided by a family deeply rooted in outdoor traditions. His father introduced him to archery as soon as he could grasp its purpose, planting the seed for a lifelong passion.
At 20, Correy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two combat tours in Afghanistan as a Vehicle Recovery Operator with the 1st Marine Regiment. After returning home, he rediscovered traditional archery, initially crafting bows as a personal pursuit. Over six years, this hobby evolved into a full-time vocation, leading to the founding of Organic Archery in 2018. His work focuses on handcrafting primitive longbows and wooden arrows from sustainably harvested local materials, honoring time-tested designs from diverse cultures.
Correy's dedication to the bowmaking craft is matched by his commitment to teaching. He offers immersive workshops that guide participants through the entire process—from selecting and harvesting wood to crafting a functional longbow—emphasizing simplicity, durability, and a deep connection to nature.
In 2020, Correy's skills and survival expertise were showcased on Season 7 of the History Channel's "Alone," where he tested his abilities in the Canadian Arctic. Although his journey was cut short due to injury, the experience reinforced his philosophy of self-reliance and harmony with the natural world.
Through Organic Archery and his teachings, Correy Hawk continues to inspire others to reconnect with ancestral skills, fostering a profound appreciation for the art of bowmaking and the enduring bond between humans and the wilderness.
